Hula – Huli

Hula aka Sean Yoro came all the way from Brooklyn, New York to Mount Maunganui, New Zealand to be one of our international Artist.

Hula is one of the only artist who paints large scale murals in oil. Street Prints Mauao was his second ever Street Art Festival to participate in and this mural was his second ever land mural as he usually paints in the water.

Entitled “Huli”, the American street artist brought to life another of his hyper-realistic and striking women portraits for the locals to enjoy.
Hula travels the world creating paintings which capture the emotions and interactions between the figures and their environment. With each piece, Hula merges his backgrounds in both street and fine art.’

While painting at SPM we got him involved in our Youth Mentoring program where he teamed up with Phoebe Robinson, a talented local Youth artist.

Now Phoebe paints and goes under the art name Jeremiah.
